What To Do In Briargate, CO
One of the fastest growing areas in Colorado Springs, Briargate spans over 10,0000acres. Since its inception in 1978, Briargate has become one of the most desirable residential communities in the area. Located in the northern part of Colorado Springs, in El Paso County, Briargate has a population of 39,812 and seamlessly fuses a small-town feel with modern-day suburban comforts. Briargate is just 14 miles from downtown Colorado Springs.
Over twenty years ago, the land owners envisioned a community nestled among the Rocky Mountains, where quality of life was the first priority. They began to plan for a safe, family-oriented community, within a short walk or drive to recreational opportunities, retail, family entertainment, medical offices and top quality schools.
By 1995, a master planning developer, known as La Plata Communities, took over planning for both Briargate and Pine Creek. In order to emphasize the natural mountain feel of Northeast Colorado Springs, La Plata Communities implemented strict and uniform design guidelines. The result was a community consisting of design guidelines that were established to highlight both the prairie and the mountain feel of northeast Colorado Springs, and has resulted in a community with largely Spanish Eclectic, European Cottage and Craftsman architecture. Additional height restrictions were enforced to preserve the mountain views.
Today Briargate is made up of residential communities including Cordera and North Fork at Briargate. In addition to the residential communities, La Plata Communities also developed the Briargate Business Campus and the Briargate Crossing Commercial areas.
Resting in an area between the eastern base of the Rocky Mountains, under the shadow of Pikes Peak, and just south of Black Forest, Briargate provides ample views of forest to the north, mountain to the west and open Colorado plains to the east. Even with these natural amenities, suburban parks can still be found throughout the vast neighborhood. For the scenic nature lover or the athletic outdoor enthusiast, Briargate never fails to impress.

Locally owned by Kareem Alshami and his wife Simood Gorguis, Arabian Nights is a hidden gem in Cimarron Hills. After fleeing Baghdad in 2005, the family spent seven years in Syria and two years in Turkey before gaining sponsorship in the area. The food here is made with love and clearly borrows from each country in which they have lived and traveled. The menu also has several plant based options. Everything is made fresh on-site. MSG free, Thai Mint is rich with enticing aromas, vibrant food presentation and a range of tastes due to an eclectic array of spices and herbs. The Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Tom Yum Gai soup and the Panang Curry are all standouts, but make sure you leave room for desert; the sticky rice with sweet mango is too good to pass up. The ambiance is rather vanilla but the food is worth the visit.

Rampart Dog Park
Great views abound at Rampart Dog Park. The area is large enough to give your dog a great work out but small enough that you can still keep an eye on her. At Rampart Dog Park you will find friendly, welcoming dog parents who understand that dogs will be dogs. There is a mini agility course and an abundance of water bowls that park patrons keep filled. The area is fenced in with two separate entrances. This is an all dirt field, however, so be prepared to give your pup a quick wipe down after a day of play.
